The wireless internet allows people to connect to the world without ant limit. How to make your place as a convenience wireless environment?

Use WiFi AP!

What is WiFi AP?
Simply to know, WiFi AP is wireless bridge. You can connect your router to the upper wireless station (router) through WiFi AP mode for extending wireless signal just like a repeater. If ADSL/Fiber/Cable is connected to a wireless router, you can go on the Internet but the wireless signal is weak. At this time, you can connect the router to another wireless router, then the existing wireless signals will enhance and the multiple wireless devices can access the Internet.

What kind of difference between WiFi AP mode and AP mode?

What is AP mode? Connect the wireless router to the upper wired IP router to turn wired Internet to wireless and share Internet to multiple devices at the same time. For instance, there is only provided one Ethernet cable in hotel. You will be busy at switching Ethernet cable if there is more than one device getting online. In this case, you can use a wireless router and switch the mode to AP mode. Then the wired will turn to wireless, and your smartphone, or laptops can access to Internet simultaneously.
The difference between WiFi AP mode and AP mode is the upper basic station. AP mode is to turn the wired signal from upper wired router to wireless. And WiFi AP mode is to extend the wireless signal form the upper wireless router.

What kind of situation can use the WiFi AP mode?

- Between Floors and Houses

A normal router is not used in big houses or between houses and floors because of its weak wireless signal. Just take your SAPIDO router and switch the mode to WiFi AP, then you can use it to bridge and extend wireless signal from your existing router to enhance wireless signal and reduce dead spot of wireless internet in the house.

How to setup WiFi AP?

Via WPS Button

If the network you would like to connect is an 11N product with WPS feature, you may complete the WiFi AP setup with the WPS button.

1. Press the WPS button on the 11N product that you would like to connect till the WPS LED starts to flash.

2. Press the WPS button on the SAPIDO router till the WIRELESS/WPS LED turns to reddish orange. Then the WiFi AP setup is done.

Via Program

※If the switch mode is not on your SAPIDO router, please according to the following steps for setup.

Open IE browser, type IP 192.168.1.1(P1), or open “My Network Place”, and click SAPIDO_GR-1733(P2).

Fill in default Username and Password to login.

Click “One Button Setup” on the left menu.

Select your “Operation Mode” is WiFi AP and click “Apply Change”. According to the following steps.

After the setting is finished, you should see a “change successful” page with countdown. When the countdown is completed, your wireless network and security will be active, and you should be able to login immediately with the new password. However, if an error message shows up, please refresh the page and it will go back to the entering page. Afterwards, you can access Internet.

※If there is the switch mode on your SAPIDO router, please according to the following steps for setup.

Please switch the operation mode to “W” before plug in the power.

Open IE browser, type IP 192.168.1.254(P1), or open “My Network Place”, and click SAPIDO_RB-1632(P2).

Fill in default Username and Password to login.

Click “One Button Setup” on the left menu.

Choose the network you would like to connect. Select the encryption type and fill the encryption key, then starts to setup the wireless encryption.

How to share your files in Samba Server with Android smartphone or Tablet PC?

Sapido launches various broadband router with inbuilt samba server, which allows computers within same local area network (LAN) can easily access to it for files upload, download, or edit.... Moreover, it could also work as the file servers of Android system smartphone or Tablet PC....etc. You can enjoy the WiFi media streaming effortlessly.

Install APP - ES File Explorer and RockPlayer Lite

First, please enter into「Market」.

Click “Search” icon on the right upper side in 「Market」, and key “es” on the top bar. Then, click “Search” icon on the right side.

Wait for the searching result, and click “ES File Explorer” application program. You can see the related information, and the “Install” icon will be showed on the bottom.

There is several notices will be showed after clicking “Install”, and click “OK” to start downloading and installing. Select “Your item will be downloaded” in 「Market」, you can see the achieved percentage of scheduled progress.

When you complete the installation, “ES File Explorer” will show installed as the following picture.

In accordance with the duplicate method for installing “RockPlayer Lite”.

Connect smartphone or Tablet PC with Android system to your Samba router

Samba is an application network in local area. You have to connect your smartphone or tablet PC with Android system to SAPIDO router wirelessly before using.

Enter into “Settings”, and click “Wireless Manager”. Open “WiFi” function, and the wireless stations which can be connected nearby will be surveyed.

Click the network you would like to connect and key the password. Then, click “Join” on the left bottom to finish connection.

Application

Click “ES File Explorer” on smartphone or tablet PC with Android system for entering into the program. Click “Local” on the left upper side, the window will pop up “Change View”.

Select “LAN”, and click the “Search” icon on the upper menu. The program will scan the servers in local area network automatically.

The scanning results will show on the screen. Click the server you would like to connect, and “SAPIDO_GR-1733_sda1” folder will show up. The folder will build up automatically, and the files in the folder can be shared. In addition, you can change the files displaying way by clicking the right upper icon.

Click “SAPIDO_GR-1733_sda1” and you will see all files and sub folders in it. (The folders in the following picture are built up premium for instruction.) The major function of “ES File Explorer” is management of files. Not only downloading the files to smartphone or tablet PC, but also uploading the files to the server. Otherwise, you can execute the files on-line without downloading. But “ES File Explorer” doesn’t support lots of format. Except the music and pictures, you have to execute the files with other software which supports a variety of files. (EX: you have to execute “pdf” files by 「Adobe Reader」.)

How to apply 「RockPlayer Lite」 for playing videos through ES File Explorer?

There are videos in the folder as the following picture. Select one of those, the window will pop up “Complete action using” and choose RockPlayer Lite. Then, the video will start to play.

Another way is long pressing the file. The window will pop up “Operations” for more options. Click “Open As”, and select “video”, the “Complete action using” window will show afterwards. This operation method can be used when this format can not be read or the file is going to be copied, renamed or deleted.
